There’s a scene in Friends where several of the characters are playing trivia to prove how well they know each other.  The question arises of what movie Rachel claims to be her favorite.  Just as Chandler shouts out Dangerous Liasons–he is challenged by “Her actual favorite movie?!”

The answer: Weekend at Bernie’s.

The point?  We all enjoy things we sometimes don’t like to admit.  You may order the raspberry vinaigrette without hesitation, but guess what?  I know your secret.  I know that as you’re gently dipping forkfuls of spinach into a light vinaigrette you’re actually dreaming of dunking pepperoni pizza crust into creamy, garlicky ranch.

We all love ranch.

Let’s just be honest with ourselves.  We know it’s not great for us, but there is something about that luscious onion-scented dressing that feels like a giant hug.  I believe in everything in moderation, but I also believe in thinking outside the box.  Or bottle, in this case.  Instead of occasionally treating yourself to the preservative-packed, store-bought version–why not just make it from scratch?  Using non-fat Greek yogurt, fresh herbaceous dill, and tangy buttermilk you can craft your very own healthy version of this indulgence.

No hidden secrets (or valleys) required.
